What is collected and why

DataWhyLegal basis
Contact form: name, email address, messageTo reply to the enquiry and, if work goes ahead, to run the projectLegitimate interests in answering enquiries; contract, if you become a client
Website analytics (only if you click Accept)Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity show which pages are used, where visitors get stuck and how the site performs. Clarity can replay anonymised sessions (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement). Text typed into form fields is masked.Consent
Email address from the contact form, in coded form (only if you click Accept)Google Analytics and Google Ads use it to link an enquiry to the visit or ad that led to it, so it is clear which ads bring enquiries. The address is turned into a one-way code (an SHA-256 hash) before it is sent to Google, so the readable address is not shared for this purpose.Consent
Basic technical data: IP address, browser, deviceHandled by the hosting provider to deliver the site and keep it secureLegitimate interests in running a secure website

If you click Accept, Google's advertising features are also switched on for this site. Google may link your visit to your Google account if you are signed in, and Treff Labs ads may be shown on Google to people who have visited this site before (remarketing). You can turn off personalised ads from Google at any time in My Ad Center, or choose Reject in Cookie Settings.

The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, run by WhatsApp (Meta). Anything sent there is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies and similar storage

Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept. Before you choose, or if you click Reject, no analytics cookies are stored on your device. Google Analytics may still receive a basic page-view signal without cookies, and Clarity runs in a cookie-free mode that does not link page views together.

These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Personal data is never sold.

How long data is kept

If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
